Your first visit will last around 1 ½ hours and will give you the opportunity to discuss your current symptoms, any treatment you have had so far, your medical history and your general lifestyle including your diet, sleep patterns and emotional state. I will also use pulse and tongue diagnosis to complete the consultation. Pulses will be taken on both wrists and your tongue will be looked at briefly to examine its structure, moisture and coating.
Based on your consultation, I will devise treatment plan, tailored to you.
What to expect in your treatment
Extremely fine, sterile needles will be inserted for a short time or left for up to 20 minutes, dependent on the treatment required. Some people report a tingling sensation, pulling or a short dull ache when the needles are inserted. The most commonly used points are on the arms and legs; a gown or blankets will be provided if the insertion points are on your back or torso.
Treatment takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour.
In addition to needling, I may use the following techniques to complement your treatment.
